Under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health Clinical Services and in conjunction with guidance from the Chief Behavioral Health Officer (CBHO) and BH Medical Director, this position will provide behavioral health therapy services for the Mental Health Unit and for Rainforest Recovery Center as time permits depending on need and census. This position requires flexibility. This employee must be trained as a master’s level clinician and be able to practice in the state of Alaska and maintain all licensing requirements. This provider must be able to meet documentation standards in terms of timeliness and accuracy using multiple medical records systems depending on service location. Documentation must meet Bartlett Hospital and CMS standards. This position is responsible for providing clinical services in an organized, structured, and therapeutic manner to mirror the goals and philosophy of the behavioral health department. This provider will conduct individual assessments, including diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, and referrals throughout the service continuum as appropriate. The variety of settings necessitates a brief solution focused model. The therapist may provide individual, group, conjoint, and family counseling as appropriate. Collaboration with partners along with frequent communication is essential. Must function as a dynamic member of treatment teams. The therapist may participate in program development including Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP) as requested. The therapist must work cooperatively to provide evidenced based practice and utilize standards developed in conjunction with the Core Psychiatric team. Participates in other hospital committees and teams as appropriate with particular focus on building strong working relationships.

Education, Experience Certifications

Education: Master’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences in a licensable discipline by the Alaskan Behavioral Regulatory Board. Completes annual educational requirements.

License(s): Current State of Alaska Master’s Degree license such as LMSW, LPC, or LMFT.

Certification(s): BLS for Healthcare Provider within 60 days of hire. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) & Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT) training within 90 days of hire.
Certified Alaska Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor by Certification Review Board as an Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor within 60 days of hire.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a behavioral health counselor, substance abuse treatment counseling preferred.
