Director Quality Improvement & Patient Safety, Toledo, OH
The University of Toledo Medical has an immediate opening for a full-time Director Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. This role seeks an inspiring leader who provides strategic, operational, and thoughtful leadership to support The University of Toledo Medical Center's mission to improve the human condition by providing patient-centered, university-quality care. The Director works collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer, senior leadership, clinical department chairs, risk management, nursing, pharmacy, and administrative leadership to develop and implement a best-in-class quality and safety program for The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) and ensures regulatory compliance and accreditation.
Education, Experience Certifications
Education: At least 5 years of relevant acute-care hospital experience in quality, patient safety, regulatory and accreditation, or performance improvement. Master's degree required in Quality Management or related field; clinical experience preferred including RN, PharmD, and/or MD candidates. Knowledgeable and experienced in Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) or other performance improvement methods, with record of successful improvement projects. Strong record of leadership, project management, collaboration. Demonstrated analytic and computer skills including use of statistical process control charts, with strong writing, problem solving, and communication skills.
