We are looking for an individual who is smart, compassionate and driven to improve the delivery of medicine to fill the position of Occurrence Nurse / 3R’s Administrator.
The Occurrence Nurse / 3Rs Administrator is responsible for the intake of occurrences (a.k.a incidents) reported by COPIC’s insureds. This position helps to identify and evaluate information pertinent to liability exposure and recognition of cases that may be eligible for the 3RS Program. This person will ensure the occurrence report is accurately completed and then forward to the proper internal destination. The administration of the 3Rs Program including, but not limited to, physician recruitment and retention into the program, facilitation of physician/patient communication / interaction, and payment review and processing.
3Rs stands for - Recognize, Respond, and Resolve. When a patient experiences an unexpected medical outcome, they expect honest, open communication and sincere concern from his or her provider about the situation (including an apology when appropriate). In addition, a discussion of the steps that will be taken to prevent reoccurrence of the incident is appropriate in certain situations.
Education, Experience Certifications
The successful candidate will be a registered nurse (RN) with at least 5 years of clinical experience. Candidates must be able to work under very stressful and highly emotional situations and handle multiple tasks with many interruptions. Must have excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to show continual empathy with clients under stressful situations. Experience in an insurance or medically related insurance environment is highly desired.
