The Acute Care Unit Nursing Supervisor contributes to the management and operation of the Acute Care & Intensive Care Units with the Nursing Director. The Supervisor serves as a professional and clinical role model while being involved in direct care as needed, with a focus on implementing quality initiatives, maintaining standards and expectations of performance, participating in Shared Governance, educating and coaching employees, and collaborating with the Director in ensuring an exemplary care experience reflective of the Island Hospital Promise.

The Nursing Supervisor position provides an opportunity for Registered Nurses interested in developing leadership skills, to learn and become engaged in quality improvement initiatives, foster professional confidence and demonstrate your clinical excellence.


  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in an Acute Care or ICU setting.
  • Previous management and/or supervisory experience to include experience as a charge nurse.
  • BSN preferred or commitment to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) months of hire.
  • CMSRN or CCRN certification encouraged.
