Overview

Full-time RN (32 – 40 hrs/wk) or part-time (20 hrs/wk); Day and Evening Shifts (no over-nights).

The Registered Nurse (RN) plans and performs professional duties to assist in delivering services, including medication administration, nursing assessments, coordinating admissions and discharges, communicating with primary care providers, and providing nursing education to people with chronic mental illness. May work in both residential and outpatient settings. Provides and coordinates medical services, facilitates mental health rehabilitation, and necessary supports to assist individuals with mental illness and substance abuse problems.

Responsibilities

The RN promotes the physical and mental health of clients by applying the nursing processes. Clarifies prescriber admission and discharge orders and contacts the prescriber to review the client’s status and medication plans. Participates in the development and update of individual treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team and clients. Guides non-medical personnel regarding medical and psychiatric concerns (within RN scope of practice and experience).

Qualifications

Preferred, but not required: Experience working with mental health clients and co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse.

Required: Unrestricted, valid Oregon license as a Registered Nurse required; official transcript will be required of finalists.

Computer proficiency required to use Electronic Health Record System. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Must pass state-required criminal history and DMV checks; possess valid OR driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required.
