The Addictions Counselor provides evidence-based individual, group counseling and psycho-education to individuals with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. The Addictions Counselor is responsible for providing assessments, screenings, client-driven treatment plans and counseling. Works effectively as an integral part of outpatient mental health and co-occurring services teams.
Performs comprehensive A&D assessments that meet the ASAM criteria. Plans and performs a wide variety of paraprofessional duties to assist in delivering services to clients. Submits timely documentation of services provided using Electronic Health Records and collaborative documentation.
Position requires working directly with adults and kids, and parents of youth in services with the Children's Resource Team.
Candidate must possess specific experience with adults and/or youth who have emotional and/or mental disabilities and substance abuse/addiction. Possess CADC I or II.
Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in a human services field OR three years of experience providing services in a similar setting with individuals who have emotional and/or mental disabilities, OR a combination of education and experience that provides the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the job.
Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.
Must pass state-required background and DMV checks; possess a valid OR driver's license and an excellent driving record to transport clients.
