Job Title: Executive Director, Hospital Based and Trauma | Hospital & Health Administration | Sioux Falls
Implement new or updated programs or portions of large scale trauma initiatives. Project impact costs, quality, efficiencies and achievement of objectives across departments, often with enterprise-wide impacts.
Apply advanced technical and clinical knowledge to solve complex problems which may impact service lines or corporate service or regional entity.
Guide and overseer the emergency department, critical care, trauma service, clinical AirMed and enterprise one-connect emergency, enterprise AirMed dispatch, clinical call center, Sanford Answering Service, patient appointment center, transplant, dialysis, neuro-critical care, hospitalists, emergency department physicians, intensivist programs, respiratory care, pulmonology clinic, diabetes and thyroid clinic, nephrology clinic and infectious disease clinic.
Provide leadership and advise leaders regarding the enterprise dialysis initiative, enterprise diabetes center, enterprise-wide one-connect emergency and Sanford/benefits afflation.
Collaborate with leaders to improve efficiencies in the delivery of patient services and resources. Plan and implement opportunities for improvement within each department, and coordinate opportunities for improvement among the departments.
Lead and champion initiatives, and advise leaders on financial planning, adherence to budget, business- and market-share opportunities and vulnerabilities, integration opportunities and enterprise opportunities.
Assure the existence of appropriate philosophy, goals and objectives for assigned areas, and that they remain consistent with the overall mission, values, and strategic plan in the market and the enterprise.
Facilitate the growth and development of staff, and serve as a role model, leader, resource and mentor. Must demonstrate measurable success in managing complex departments, functions and services in a competitive environment.
Champion and ensure adherence to enterprise standards, quality and safety initiatives.
Works with multidisciplinary teams to lead trauma care activities in the organization or the field. Helps colleagues integrate strategic goals and tactical priorities. Evaluates current emergency medicine practices and implements recommendations for improvement. Directs the development, maintenance, and communication of own function's strategic plan. Develops and implements policies that improve both patient care and operational effectiveness. Creates a climate for collaboration in the organization and minimizes barriers to collaboration. Champions staff development programs and initiatives in general. Champions behaviors that inspire cohesiveness and move the organization to reach a vision.
This position will be responsible for Emergency, Trauma, Critical Care, Hospital Based Services, Dialysis, One Call, PAC Nephrology Clinic, ID Clinic, and Pulmonology Clinic.
Bachelor's degree in nursing, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum ten years of experience in a licensed or degreed position in health care or business related field and at least five years of progressive management experience at the department director level or above in a health care or business related field required.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
