Primary Purpose: The purpose of this position is to ensure the alignment of the UC Health Human Resources operations functions within a matrix organization. This position’s responsibilities include legal, compliance (including JCAHO), employee and labor relations, employment law, and workforce and management development. The position will be responsible for system-wide Human Resources functions and is charged with the development of strategic human resource goals supportive of the Enterprise-wide Academic Health Care mission.
Knowledge and Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in business or human resources, minimum required. MBA or MHA, preferred degree.
License and Certification: SPHR required.
Years of Experience: Six to ten years equivalent experience, minimum required. Eleven to fifteen years equivalent experience, preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; master’s degree preferred with SPHR designation required. Six to 10 years of experience in Human resources required with 10+ years preferred. Previous experience in a union/union/free workforce in a leadership role is necessary.
The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, superior analytical abilities and demonstrated leadership skills. Prior experience in an academic medical center is strongly preferred
