The Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association represents hospitals, nursing homes, home health and hospice and other health care organizations. We are a recognized leader in state health care policy. Our membership spans geographically from PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center to Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital in Utqiaġvik. Our diverse association unites every small rural hospital and large hospital system in the state around common goals. For over 60 years, ASHNHA members have worked to improve health care in Alaska. We’re looking for a President and CEO who will work closely with the Board of Trustees to set the organization’s strategic direction and a budget in alignment with the Board’s vision.

  • Position is full-time, benefitted.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with a strong preference for a master’s degree in law, business, or health care administration.
  • Five to seven years or more of experience in progressive leadership roles for a hospital, health system or trade association;
  • Experience with Alaska’s political and regulatory climate

The position is based in beautiful Anchorage Alaska. While ASHNHA has offices in Anchorage and Juneau (where the state legislature convenes), the CEO is expected to have a presence in all parts of Alaska. Travel to member organizations is expected and significant time in Juneau during legislative session may be necessary.
