To serve as Supervisor of Behavioral Health (BH) Service and to provide clinical services to a select caseload. This includes clinical staff supervision, staff development, direct patient care, and community outreach. Functions as liaison between BH, other SEARHC programs, and other providers outside of SEARHC. Holds the overall responsibility for supervising the day to day operations of assigned clinic
- Provides clinical psychotherapeutic services to referred patients and consultative services to SEARHC Staff and other providers. These services may include diagnostic interviews and assessments, individual, family and group psychotherapy, psychological testing, school and other appropriate consultations.
- Responsible for the day to day clinical operations of the program in order to meet the needs of the patients and to assure continuity of care. Provides coordination with other SEARHC-wide BH programs and with non-SEARHC and Telebehavioral Health based provider services within the BH catchments that are essential for integrated patient services, including consultation and treatment team planning. Works collaboratively with other SEARHC BH programs and medical staff to improve patient services, and provides consultation to SEARHC leadership and administration. Provides for community outreach activities. Assesses and identifies SE Alaska community's needs in order to direct and coordinate psychoeducational outreach programs, creates avenues for access of referrals to treatment and develops measures of accountability.
- Incumbent provides clinical supervision in partnership with the medical director for staff. Responsible for staff and their clinical development. Recruits, hires, trains, and mentors staff. Ensures that staff meet productivity and documentation standards. Completes timesheets and is responsible for performance evaluations of staff.
- Contributes to BH Division team discussions for process improvement, regulatory compliance training needs and other topics.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Masters in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or other closely related Human Service field.
- 4 years of post masters clinical experience in a patient care setting.
- 2 years of clinical behavioral health supervisory experience preferred.
- Licensed as a behavioral health provider or eligible for Alaska licensure as Psychological Associate, Licensed professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
- Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor I OR II (CDC I or CDCII) in Alaska or equivalent (i.e. MAC) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of leadership, supervision, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of Therapy and Counseling principles, methods and procedures for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of behavioral disorders, impairment, and dysfunctionality.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection and training.
- Skills in clinical assessment and the various forms of psychotherapies.
- Skills in supervision to facilitate improved patient outcomes and programmatic effectiveness.
- Excellent communication skills - the ability to integrate knowledge into practicalities and application.
- Ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce.
- Ability to work under pressure, short time lines and be responsive in environment where the mitigation of human suffering depends on the leadership, stability and professionalism of the incumbent.
- Ability to accomplish BH goals and objectives.
