Salary

$34.07 - $59.28 Hourly
$70,869 - $123,312 Annually
This position is a Pay Band 95

Why does the job exist?

Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises the delivery of long-term care services to residents in the facility. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects. Record patient┬┐s medical information and vital signs. Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients┬┐ conditions. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.

How does it get done?

Will directly supervise approximately forty (40) employees at a rehabilitation hospital. Incumbent will provide leadership, conduct interviews, hiring and employee evaluations. Provide on-going training, monitor health services, and ensure quality and compliance in accordance with state and federal regulations. Incumbent will provide direct patient care during emergencies, vacancies or extended absences and ensure adequate coverage for the facility.

Residents at New Mexico Rehabilitation Center.

Ideal Candidate

Will have:
The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
The ability to function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Experience providing leadership and guidance;
Experience working with OSHA, Life Safety Code, and other regulatory agencies;

Minimum Qualification

Current license as a Registered Nurse or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing and eight (8) years of professional level experience with a light strategic impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment.

Employment Requirements

This position is designated a safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements. Employment is conditional pending results of criminal background check. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. May be required to work weekends, holidays, overtime and call back hours as needed. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) training.

Working Conditions

Working Conditions for individual positions in this Manager Category Level may vary. Long Term Care Facility, fast paced nursing environment, nursing units, dealing with residents and families, outside contacts, and direct nursing personnel.
