Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,500 employees and more than 630 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
The Financial Planning department provides quality financial services to the organization’s systems, directors and internal staff by acting as a liaison and business partner. Department staff offer in-depth financial analysis and review of the organization’s operations to understanding past financial performance and its impact on the future; develop new and effective programs; and to ensure the financial viability of the entire organization over time.
As the Director of Financial Planning, you will provide essential guidance in developing financial strategy and short/long-range financial plans, recommending overall financial targets to promote cost-effective operations that maximize the organization’s resources without compromising quality services. This includes oversight of the financial management of smaller business units; development and preparation of departmental operating budgets; ensuring that adequate resources are invested in each area of service so that they can achieve their growth potential. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Certified Professional Accountant (CPA). Eight (8) years management experience in Finance, Financial Planning, or related field within health care setting. Valid driver's license and abstract. Current Hawai’i auto insurance.
