Our Behavioral Health team is growing! We are looking for a candidate who is ready to join a team of committed professionals who embrace our missions and serve our community.

We are looking for a Behavioral Health Specialist to join our company.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current license in the state of Washington as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist of Psychology, or registered as a counselor in the state of Washington with a Master’s in Psychology, or practicum experience in direct counseling services and one year (40 hours per week; not internships or practicum) supervised experience with direct counseling services to patients. Convenient if bilingual in English/Spanish, English/Laotian, English/Cambodian, English/Vietnamese, English/Russian, and/or ability to sign. Candidate has not been sanctioned or excluded from participation in federal or state healthcare programs by a federal or state law enforcement, regulatory, or licensing agency.

Examples of Duties (this list may not all include all the duties assigned):

  • Full scope social work providing intervention, prevention and treatment to low income and disadvantaged individuals and families.
  • Take action on the measures required to support our diverse population.
  • Coordinate the care of multi-issue clients and intervention with their families.
  • Working with a team of health professionals and other support staff, do intervention for identified risk factors through the use of developed care plans.
  • Provide behavioral health screens for patients.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate linkages with other mental health/social services in the community who share patients with us.
  • Using current knowledge of community resources, expedite referrals.
  • Work in coordination with other YNHS health providers to develop education programs for patients and staff.
  • Coordinate with social services personnel to address the complex needs of homeless individuals and families, both at our main clinic and at a satellite location, and work in partnership with the Homeless Network to meet additional health-affecting conditions.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
