Manages and applies resources to general employee health operations, guided by experience, organizational goals and operational strategies. Also responsible for the management of cyclical projects. Works on complex employee health matters where analysis of issues, data and process require advanced specialist knowledge and in-depth industry and technical knowledge.
Delegates the administrative authority necessary to establish and maintain effective Employee Health Services (EHS) programs. Synthesizes complex and diverse information to provide oversight and promote standardized quality EHS outcomes that equips employees to provide safe and quality care to patients.
Develops evidence-based clinical practices to enhance EHS programs. Sets strategic goals and utilize employee injury data, regulatory requirements, key performance indicators and practice guidelines to create a common vision and alignment of resources across the enterprise.
Analyzes and synthesizes data, and demonstrate vision, with an ability to lead, develop and implement change projects as needed. Serves as consultant, mentor, researcher and educator to employees, volunteers, medical staff and executive leadership teams. Communicates with employees, patients, family members, visitors, client, regulatory agencies, the general public and others on the health care team.
Oversees the loss prevention program and the epidemiologic evaluation of occupational injury and disease, the development of health services and programs to promote health and wellness among the employee population. Oversees and analyzes key performance indicators related to EHS programs, workers compensation claims data and mandatory reporting of health care worker influenza vaccination rates.
Works independently and as part of a team, using effective collaboration and negotiating skills to lead, develop and implement projects. Incorporate teaching and learning principles to facilitate the growth and development of unique client populations, and function as expert under the auspices of the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards for advanced practice registered nurses.
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) required.
Three years of clinical experience in a health care field required.
Training and education in occupational health, workers compensation, infection prevention and control guidelines, Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (AADAAAA) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requirements and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations desired.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
May be required to obtain licensure in all states where Sanford Health operates.
Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications with American Board for Occupational Health Nurses (ABOHN) Certification required.
