Job Summary

SEARHC seeks Registered Nurse for its Labor and Delivery department at its close knit, Sitka community in Alaska. This position within the Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center (MEMC) will perform a variety of nursing care procedures. Nursing care for all ages and their families during their ante partum, post partum, laboring stages, new born baby care and post-surgical C-section patients. May need to respond if on call to emergencies including trauma and fetal distress C-section care including total peri-operative nursing care. Decisions may require independent, critical thinking and calm; consult in difficult situations when needed and able to direct and delegate appropriately to CNAs, technicians, LPNs, clerks and/or PCE.

SEARHC is an easy 2 ½ hour flight away from Seattle and is the primary healthcare system throughout the communities in the scenic Inner Passage of Alaska with its network of two hospitals, clinics and long term care services. One year minimum of clinical nurse experience, OB experience preferred; valid and unrestricted RN license in Alaska, BLS, ACLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP (or obtained within 6 months of hire); Able to guide, provide leadership, implement appropriate nursing therapeutic interventions.
