Virginia Mason Memorial

As the region’s leading health care provider and Yakima’s largest employer, we believe that by improving health, we will transform Yakima! Virginia Mason Memorial (VMM), part of the Virginia Mason Health System, is a 256-bed hospital as well as 20+ primary care and specialty care locations. We are a nonprofit community hospital that has served Central Washington's Yakima Valley for 70 years. VMM has a multispecialty team of more than 300 physicians. Specialty care services include cardiac care, a continuum of cancer care, hospice care, and advanced services for children with special health care needs.

North Star Lodge, Virginia Mason Memorial’s cancer care center, is seeking an Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join our practice. The practice plan is to have 6 Oncologists and 6 APP’s on the Medical Oncology side of the operation. We currently have 5 of each and are recruiting for additional team members. At North Star Lodge (NSL), we are formed into care teams with an Oncologist sharing a patient panel with an APP to assure patients have ready access to care and same-day access for symptom management; we believe in the team approach to patient care.

NSL is one of two practices in the State of Washington to participate in the Oncology Care Model, a pilot program through CMS assessing value-based care in Oncology. This work has been instrumental in helping us to improve care through metric driven feedback and alignment with other practices throughout the United States. Additionally, our center is well resourced with financial advocates, pharmacists and techs, RN navigators, a referrals team, social workers, oncology certified dietitians, a clinical trials staff, a cancer registry, lymphedema services, genetic counselors, radiation oncology, a large infusion department and robust support from our local foundation to fund unfunded mandates in cancer care.

We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefit package including malpractice with tail coverage, CME, Medical/Dental/Vision, LTD, Life/AD&D. And insurance benefit eligibility begins on the first day of employment!

  • ANCC or AANP Certification
  • Washington State Licensure; DEA registered in WA State/Valid NPI
  • American Heart Association BLS or ACLS
  • Experience and/or strong interest in Oncology preferred
