Job Summary

As a full time RN, provide professional nursing or nutritional care to patients in an ambulatory care clinic. Perform professional nursing/advisory duties to ambulatory patients, who are at varying levels of wellness and disease. Initiates actions and provides comprehensive nursing (or nutritional) care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and socio-cultural needs to the patient and family. In the role of "Wisewoman", demonstrate respect and compassion with the Native Alaska population seeking healthcare services. Provides proactive services in which individual and community health needs are identified and addressed in a timely and cost effective manner, providing high quality health care services. Oversee and coordinate referral systems to assure follow through with patient and providers. Collects data elements as required by grant funding.

SEARHC is approximately a 2 ½ hour flight from Seattle, WA. As the primary healthcare system of hospitals, clinics and long term care services to communities throughout the scenic Inner Passage of Alaska, SEARHC staff enjoy the region’s temperature sweet spot between 20 degrees in winter and just shy of 70 degrees in summer. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3 years of general nursing experience ; Licensure as a Registered Nurse; must obtain State of Alaska License within 60 days of employment; Basic Life Support certification preferred; National Case Management certification preferred; Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of other tribal health organizations in Alaska preferred.
