The Vice President of Operations provides leadership in implementing and managing major strategic and operational initiatives, organizational wide as well as leading a broad range of functions including Supportive Care Services, Telemedicine, Data Analytics and Enterprise Planning and Improvement. The Vice President role requires a background in health care, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a talent for leading and motivating others. This position reports to the Chief of Staff, Senior Vice President, CNO.

  • Demonstrates the SCCA Mission, Vision and Care Commitments in leadership behaviors, practice, and decisions. Creates a culture that fosters teamwork, inclusion, and collaboration throughout the organization
  • Develops and implements operations strategies and tactics to drive a high level of organizational performance across SCCA
  • Ensures plans are developed and executed for key performance indicators, goals, and metrics. Including quality, safety, service, financial (Division budget to actual performance), and patient experience performance (survey and timely access)
  • Participates in institutional planning, policy development, priority setting and management decision making, with full operational responsibilities for departments as assigned Monitors performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions
  • Provides regular performance updates to the senior leadership team
  • Encourages and promotes operating in a continuous improvement environment that is data driven and responsive to customer and market needs
  • Responsible for recruitment and development of Operations team
  • Leadership accountability for the following key performance metrics; engagement, turnover, retention, diversity, and equity in the workforce


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business administration, public health, nursing, health information administration, or related field required
  • Master’s degree in a closely related field is required
  • 10+ years supervisory experience in operations or related field
  • Multi-team management experience
  • Previous P&L responsibility preferred
  • Competent in operating effectively in an integrated system environment, working in a variety of matrix management relationships
  • Proven track record as a team leader with an understanding of management practices

  • Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles

  • Knowledgeable of all policies and procedures that affect the outcomes of patient care, employee rights and responsibilities
  • Knowledgeable of current healthcare environment/regulations and impact to hospital operations
