Aspen Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Pre-Op Supervisor for our very busy, multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center in Walnut Creek, CA.
Our facility has a highly skilled staff with extensive training in outpatient surgery. Through the use of advanced technology, our physicians and staff are dedicated to providing the most competent, compassionate and personalized care possible.
The Pre-Op Supervisor/Charge RN, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing, is responsible for leading day-to-day operations to facilitate organizational success related to clinical strategic goals and objectives in accordance with sound general management principles, regulatory and accreditation standards, and the facility mission, vision and values.
Responsibilities include:
Staffing, scheduling, and the overall function of Pre-Operative Services.
Planning, coordinating and directing nursing care and all related activities of the Pre-operative Services in compliance with local, state, federal regulatory requirements and standards established by the facilities accrediting body.
Responsible for assisting with administrative tasks related to Risk Management, Infection Control, Employee Health, Performance Improvement, and Clinical Recruitment/Retention.
In conjunction with the Administrator and Director of Nursing, the Pre-Op Charge Nurse will develop, monitor and evaluate the implementation of policies and procedures, which assure that cost effective, safe and high-quality care is provided.
Qualifications include:
Ability to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina and endurance.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Current licensure in the State of California
Current Certification in BLS, ACLS and PALS
Knowledge of state, federal and accrediting body regulations and standards related to healthcare
Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement and that of others.
Previous nursing leadership or management experience is preferred
Is aware of professional nursing standards and performs in accordance with them
