GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

This position requires to be onsite as a full time (1.0 FTE) employee working standard hours of Monday – Friday and will work not less than forty (40 per week) - MUST be a licensed mental health provider with trauma focused or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) certification. *** NOT REMOTE OR TELECOMMUTE POSITION ***

Functions as a TRUAMA INFORMED - INTEGRATED BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIAN (TI-IBHC) in a team and mission-based setting to provide trauma informed integrated behavioral interventions, including diagnostic assessments, counseling, and support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, children and families experiencing trauma responses, personality disorders, mental health issues, communication challenges, and family conflict. TI-IBHC will address social determinants of health in the patient population. TI-IBHC must hold certifications in at least one known trauma related specialty, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Treating Complex Trauma, or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), among others to be determined by Behavioral Health Program Manager (BHPM) subject to evidenced based approaches to trauma treatment.

TI-IBHC works as part of an onsite interdisciplinary team to undertake assessments, complete/maintain histories, prepare treatment plans, meet with patients to follow-up on progress toward goals, provide care coordination, lead educational and support groups, prepare reports, etc. TI-IBHC has primary responsibility for serving as a resource to build, strengthen and maintain positive working relationships with the clients, providers, case managers, agency representatives, supervisors, program managers and other staff within local communities. This position may be asked to work at other clinic sites as needed.

Waterfall Clinic, Inc. dba Waterfall Community Health Center (WCHC) is an integrated patient-centered primary care clinic serving insured and uninsured children and adults with a special emphasis on care for persons who experience barriers to accessing care due to income, language, cultural and social barriers. This position will support mission and goal achievement, organizational quality and patient-centered medical home philosophy.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Personnel supervision is not a responsibility of this position.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direct supervision of the Behavioral Health Program Manager (BHPM). Exercises progressive levels of autonomy in day-to-day activities based on satisfactory job performance.

HIPAA REQUIREMENTS: This position has access to Protected Health Information (PHI) in order to perform the functions of the job and employee shall apply the minimum necessary standard of HIPAA at all times. You are only to read the content of these records to the extent needed to accomplish the assigned task. PHI shall only be discussed on a need to know basis. Maintain strict confidentiality and respect the privacy of others.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, social work or related field.
  • Unrestricted Oregon License and Board Certified to practice as it relates to Behavioral Health and/or Mental Health Provider (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD), required.
  • Maintain compliance with credentialing including active licensure as a clinician.
  • Ability to be credentialed with Medicaid, Medicare, private and other insurance within the scope of licensure.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working in healthcare or similar setting as a behavioral and/or mental health provider, preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience with providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to full range of individuals from youth through adulthood.
  • Experience working in healthcare, preferred
  • Demonstrate interest and experience providing quality integrated behavioral health care to persons with difficult clinical presentations, including but not limited to: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), personality disorders, and general mental health conditions such as thought disorders and psychosis.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and experience providing complex patient care support in a high-profile environment with tact and diplomacy.
  • Effective time management and project management skills, such as communication, delegation, prioritization, maintain a big picture of the organization outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a confidential environment to provide information and service to a wide range of internal and external contacts.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills to provide a wide range of complex and confidential care regarding highly sensitive matters.
  • Demonstrates required customer service and phone etiquette competencies.

LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT:

  1. Trauma related certification in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Treating Complex Trauma, or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), among others to be determined by Behavioral Health Program Manager (BHPM) subject to evidenced based approaches to trauma treatment; and recertify prior to expiration date.
  2. Non-violent Crisis Intervention Comprehensive training class completed within 6 months of hire, and recertify prior to expiration date.
  3. Current American Health Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Card (BLS) within 6 months of hire, and recertify prior to expiration date.
  4. Mandatory Trainings for Organization and Advanced Health compliance completed within 3 months of hire, no later than 6 months, and recertify prior to expiration date.
