Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• Current WA RN/ARNP license
• BS in Nursing required, Master’s degree in nursing, healthcare, business, or related field preferred.

Experience:

• 2 years of nursing management experience required.
• 5 years of progressive nursing management/administrative experience or 5 years of Inpatient psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with WAC requirements, Joint Commission standards, and professional standards of mental health and substance use disorder treatment

Position Summary:

In coordination with the Director of Nursing, the Associate Director of Nursing directs the operations, programs, and activities related to nursing care in the residential inpatient facilities: Recovery Place Seattle and Recovery Place Kent. Plans, directs, and develops protocols to maintain standards of patient care and advises medical staff in matters related to clinical services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. Defines and maintains facility standards in nursing care and practice in accordance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

Essential Job Functions: (This is not the job description in its entirety)

• Collaborate with Director of Nursing, Inpatient Nurse Managers and Medical Director to maintain regulatory compliance with state, federal, Joint Commission and agency requirements/standards.
• Develop, in conjunction with Director of Nursing, policies and procedures related to nursing functions.
• Assume responsibility for operations in the director’s absence.
• Collaborate with Medical Director and provider in making administrative patient-related decisions.
• Maintain on-call/after-hours telephone availability on a rotating schedule.
• Develop and implement nursing staffing plans.

Working Conditions

Direct nursing care requires the ability to lift, push, pull, twist, stoop, lift to 50lbs without assistance. Most work takes place in usual office working conditions, where the noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises. Perform duties of a nurse as needed, which will include exposure to hazardous materials (such as body fluids, needle sticks).
