Opportunity

The Dental Director is a senior level administration position with a responsibility for all dental services at health center sites. This responsibility includes the authority to oversee all aspects of dental care delivery, regulatory compliance, quality, efficiency and the supervision of all dentists and dental hygienists. This position provides leadership within the dental program and advice and counsel to the Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Within the scope of licensure, provides dental care for patients of all ages of the clinic.
  • Meets productivity and clinical measure/standards of the clinic
  • Coordinates with clinic and community providers ensuring delivery of comprehensive dental care services.
  • Serves as liaison between providers and leadership.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to coordinate care with other medical, behavioral health and dental staff.
  • Knowledge of dental clinic operations, and the principles of supervision and training.
  • Ability to lead and develop subordinates and to work effectively with administrative staff and community members.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Work Experience: Experience working with medically underserved populations. Minimum 2 years as a dentist with General Practice Residency; Dental Director experience preferred; ability to work with patients of all age, including children preferred.

Education, certification, and licensure: Graduation from an accredited dental school. Licensed dental provider in the state of Oregon. MPH certificate preferred.
