The Job:

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe and effective nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures.

Work Schedule: Full Time

Location: Community Hospital

Responsibilities:

• Provide pre/intra/post procedure nursing care (assessment, monitoring, intervention and education) related to diagnostic and therapeutic adult cardiac catheterization procedures including (but not limited to) angioplasty, coronary stents, , Swan Ganz/right heart catheterization, and pericardiocentesis.
• Assess the patient upon admission to the cardiac cath lab department, ensuring all labs orders and results are in patient chart, H & P within 30 days of procedure, contrast allergy noted, consents are present and familiarize self with patient chart.
• Administer intravenous and oral medications to patients per physician order and according to policy and procedure.
• Demonstrate knowledge in the following: angioplasty, coronary stents, Swan Ganz/right heart cath, pericardiocentesis, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and recognition of cardiac rhythms.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing (or its equivalent).
• At least two (2) years of cardiac catheterization experience required.
• Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS
• Current ALS
• RCIS preferred, or obtained within 1 year

This position's pay range is: $35.96 - 50.34 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increases, market adjustments, recognition bonuses and other forms of discretionary compensation may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
