Senior IT Project Manager

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external stakeholders through all phases of the SDLC. The Senior IT Project Manager helps set and follow clear project management standards including project plans, change controls, risk management, and other project management documents on given strategic initiatives. The Senior IT Project Manager assists in developing standards, managing the enterprise IT project priority list with IT Directors, and assists in IT Steering Committee meetings if needed. This position reports to the Director of IT Strategic Initiatives.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field and at least five (5) years of relevant project management experience required. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience to include a minimum of five (5) years project management experience will be considered. Particular emphasis on waterfall and iterative software development methodologies. Experience managing multiple complex projects with teams of 10 or more. Experience in health plan environment preferred.
Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification, or equivalent required. Strong project management skills, including the ability to create project plans, prioritize work, and meet deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office suite of applications (including Visio, MS Project, etc.), SharePoint, Workfront, and other internal applications. Valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

Work Environment And Physical Demands
Ability to use a computer keyboard. More than 50% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. Must be able to lift, carry, or move objects of varying size, weighing up to 10 lbs.
