The Infusion Therapist/Registered Nurse, in the Infusion Center, serves as a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The RN administers IV therapy treatments in the coordination and effective use of peripheral vascular lines that require advanced nursing competencies. Responsible for appropriate utilization of resources and optimum quality of devices for positive patient outcomes. This individual also works to develop, interpret, implement and document a plan of care for each patient.
Education, Experience, Certifications
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Skill in communicating effectively and empathetically with patients and their family members; Ability to work effectively with providers and staff; Specialized knowledge in the area of counseling and related services; Knowledge of community counseling resources; Ability to develop and maintain a resource library for patients; Knowledge of computer systems and applications; Knowledge of health care administrative practices; Ability to build relationships with internal and external departments and agencies; Knowledge of administrative principles and the ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving and decision-making.
EDUCATION: RN required; BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Two to three years of IV therapy experience.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Current Oregon RN license
