NEW HIRE SALARY RANGE: $58,000 - $67,000/year


In support of our mission to provide services and programs that meet the needs of all of the people we serve, the Mental Health Center of Denver is expanding our Diversity, Equity and Inclusiveness (DEI) team by adding a DEI Education Coordinator position. The DEI team is committed to ensuring that the organization’s commitment to anti-racism, social justice, and equity is realized through providing all staff the training needed to increase their skills and knowledge in a wide variety of diversity, equity and inclusiveness topics.

The DEI Education Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating anti-bias, anti-racism, and inclusiveness trainings across all levels of the organization starting immediately with the two required diversity and cultural awareness trainings. In addition to facilitating trainings internally, the DEI Education Coordinator will facilitate community-based trainings and conference presentations. A core responsibility of this role is developing additional curriculum and reviewing external trainings to be added to existing offerings. The DEI Education Coordinator will collaborate with the Data Storyteller in collecting and analyzing data related to DEI work across the organization and will support the DEI Manager in coordinating grants and seeking out new funding opportunities.


  • Contribute to an organizational culture of respect, hope, and personal accountability regarding Diversity, Equity & Inclusiveness.
  • Facilitate trauma informed trainings and consultations in a variety of diversity, equity and inclusiveness related topics for individuals, small groups, and large groups.
  • Promote cultural proficiency in all aspects of the organization’s functions and programming.
  • Create opportunities to engage employees in cultural conversations, self-exploration, and intentional practice
  • Provide support for team and one-on-one consultations related to DEI topics
  • Coordinate, write, and review DEI curriculum used or being considered at Mental Health Center of Denver
  • Moderate and support the facilitation of internal group discussions including DEI Roundtables (larger, open) and Kaleidoscope Conversations (smaller, breakouts)
  • Project management, scheduling, coordination
  • Coordinate community training relationships
  • Gather, analyze, and report data related to trainings through a culturally-proficient lens
  • Support with coordinating grants and seek funding opportunities
  • Contribute to media—written, visual, and social
  • Represent the DEI team and/or MHCD on internal and external committees
  • Collaborate on DEI team projects
  • Present at conferences (local, regional, national)
  • Support Employee Resource Groups development
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Local and Regional Travel required (post COVID-19)


  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, communication, education, or related field


  • 4+ years of documented and demonstrated training experience specific to DEI topics in a variety of settings
  • Demonstrated competency in a wide variety of DEI topics
  • Demonstrated curriculum and training development experience


  • Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
  • Strong understanding of anti-oppression, anti-racism and anti-bias
  • Demonstrated ability to make diversity, equity, and inclusiveness concepts accessible and relevant
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from all walks of life
  • Organized, engaging presentation skills in both virtual and in-person settings
  • Strong conflict management skills
  • Strong skills with the use of technology (Zoom, Teams, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Bilingual fluency a plus
  • LCSW or LPC or MSW with clinical experience a plus


MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
