Director of Department Operations Family Medicine

The Director of Department Operations leads and directs all operations of the departments within the dyad model working with executive and physician leadership in determining strategic goals and long term plans and develops the necessary policies and procedures to achieve the identified objectives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification/License:

Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business administration or related field preferred. Greater than 5 years’ experience related position and health care setting including minimum of 5 years’ supervisor experience. Experience in Physician Practice management required. Some Department Operations Director positions may require licensed RN.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiations skills. Maturity to work under pressure to meet established deadlines and to handle issues that may arise with personnel, administration, and physicians. Experience with supervision and management of diverse staff. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and physicians. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports that conform to prescribed style and format. Fluency with word processing and spreadsheet computer functions.
