Sea Mar seeks a Vice President of Population Health Management to further organization-wide efforts to apply population health principles and practices toward improving the health of Sea Mar patients. The incumbent is responsible for providing strategic project management to support regional and system-wide population health initiatives such as enabling the transition to value based care, data infrastructure to support Population Health and enabling equitable access to healthcare.

This position fills a key leadership role within the organization to develop and drive change, facilitate alignment and create measurable impact within the organization and in communities served by Sea Mar. The role is expected to serve in a collaborative environment, sustaining cross-regional system partnerships, initiatives and projects of varying size and complexity. The incumbent will assist in strengthening the agency’s external presence in community-wide efforts toward health care and other system reform. The position is responsible for internal organizational projects with input/direction from the Chief Executive Officer. The position will establish and actively maintain collaborative working relationships with all levels of leadership, management and front line staff to create a population health focus. This position will also be responsible for working with MCOs and negotiating contracts as well as working closely with the Quality Improvement teams on continual improvement efforts in HEDIS and attaining high clinical quality measures scores.

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Excellent analytic skills including data mining, data and metric interpretation skills and experience.
  • Experience working with large databases, data verification and data management highly preferred.
  • Must have experience with actuaries, budget analysis, and financial management.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to compile, interpret, and utilize information, as well as to communicate with people of all backgrounds and educational levels.
  • An MBA, MHA or equivalent degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in health care leadership practicing population health principles highly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
