Associate Administrator-Medical Center serves as Division Administrator for Division of Human Genetics consisting of approximately 50 faculty, staff and students within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs, manages and supervises all divisional fiscal, human resources, educational, clinical, and research operations; develops and implements business plans; initiates and implements strategic planning; administers and manages multimillion dollar fiscal operations comprised of the divisional operating budget, practice plan revenue, and grant budgets totaling over $6 million; develops, prepares, forecasts and controls divisional operating budgets; collaborates with Director to develop divisional governance policy and procedures; implements, oversees and enforces compliance to divisional and departmental policies; manages and ensures continuity of established financial, human resources and operational processing environment to reinforce adherence to established internal control structures; develops and implements quality assurance programs; participates in and develops responses to internal and external audits; plans, develops, manages and evaluates genetic counseling clinical operations; negotiates, establishes and administers professional service agreements; researches and identifies business expansion opportunities; administers all space utilization and management issues; directs and oversees faculty recruitment process; manages and oversees faculty appointments, credentialing, compensation, annual review, and promotion and tenure activities; in conjunction with the department research unit and the CCC, works with principal investigators with grant submissions; contributes to the development and preparation grant budget proposals; monitors grant expenditures and project end dates; interprets and administers funding agency guidelines; manages, interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates personnel.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in business administration or health services management & policy.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in business admin, health services administration or relevant field or equivalent combination of education & experience required; Masters degree desired; considerable experience in a progressive admin capacity in a health care setting required preferably in an academic med center; supervisory experience preferred; knowledge of University policies, rules & regulations desired; reasonable knowledge of accounting principles & applications with budgeting experience required; familiarity of a research environment preferred; knowledge of medical billing regulations, principles & processes desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
