Nursing Program Manager

NEW HIRE HOURLY RATE: $70,500/yr - $85,800/yr

POSITION SUMMARY: Assist the Director of Nursing in various aspects of management, coordination, and supervision of nursing staff and services. Provide both coordination of care and direct nursing services to a variety of individuals receiving services. Work closely with other Program Managers and the Director of Nursing regarding nursing issues.


  1. Help ensure that nursing standards of accuracy, quality, and efficiency are met.
  2. Assist in internal audits of nursing practice.
  3. Provide onboarding training for all new nursing/medical assistant staff.
  4. Oversees staffing requirements such as scheduling, paid time off, and FMLA
  5. Ensures that all nursing personnel can demonstrate the abilities required to function appropriately in their positions.
  6. Provide support the nursing process in interventions/care provided.
  7. Participate in team meetings, in-services, and supervisory sessions as required.
  8. Attend Program Manager meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration within clinical programs.
  9. Working the floor in times of staffing shortage.
  10. Ensure that nursing standards of accuracy, quality, and efficiency are met.
  11. Evaluate individual nursing performance issues; participate in supervision, and disciplinary meetings and discussions.
  12. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with organizational standards.
  13. Responsible for personnel management: hiring, discipline, and catalytic coaching.
  14. Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and in coordination with Program Managers.

EDUCATION: Minimum of LPN with 1 year minimum charge/lead nurse experience. Current Colorado nursing license with clear background.

EXPERIENCE: At a minimum 4 years of working with mental health populations; administrative management experience; ability to manage multiple projects.


  • Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
  • Some management, supervisory, or coordination experience required.
  • Detailed oriented
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Experience working with the mentally ill population
  • Current and valid nursing license in State of Colorado
  • Ability to work with a diverse population both internal and external of organization.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: As assigned by Director of Nursing

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
