The CLINIC MANAGER, DERMATOLOGY SERVICES will be responsible for overall administrative management of the clinic(s) through operationalizing the medical center’s values, mission and goals. The Clinic Manager will hire, supervise and mentor clinic staff in such a way to create effective teamwork, plan and implement programs to meet specific patient care needs, work to continually improve clinic operations and efficiency. Prepare, evaluate and manage financial reports and budget.

The CLINIC MANAGER, DERMATOLOGY SERVICES is responsible for overall administrative management of the clinic through operationalizing the medical center’s values, mission and goals. The Clinic Manager hires, supervises and mentors clinic staff in such a way to create effective teamwork, plans and implements programs to meet specific patient care needs, works to continually improve clinic operations and efficiency. Prepares, evaluates and manages financial reports and budget.

DUTIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, performance improvement, disciplinary process and
  • Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Works with the medical staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
  • Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and facility policies are followed.
  • Insures that all appropriate aspects of patient care are provided in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Performance reflects age specific knowledge in all areas of patient care specific to medical specialty.
  • Monitors patient scheduling, referrals and clinic capacity issues, and takes necessary action to address problems.
  • Collaborates with ancillary support services to provide a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Monitors utilization of equipment and supplies; orders supplies as needed.
  • Effectively maintains all required records for the clinic; demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • Consults other clinical departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in operations and performance improvement activities.
  • Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for clinic staff members; participates in guidance and educational programs.
  • Decisions made reflect knowledge of facts, knowledge of diseases/surgical conditions, care required and good judgment.
  • Adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. Insures that Pain Standards are appropriately assessed for clinic patients.
  • Knowledge of medications and IV fluids and their correct administration, based on age of the patient and their clinical condition. Insures nursing staff have skills needed to do the same.
  • Supervises staff to ensure quality of nursing care.
  • Ensures that documentation meets current standards and policies and is completed for each clinic visit. (Clinic Staff)
  • Ensures that clinic meets JCAHO and DOH standards at all times.
  • Responsible for resolving patient complaints
  • Develops, justifies and maintains a fiscal plan (budget) for the clinic. Monitors patient revenues, expenses and operating expenses (salaries and capital expense items) and provides appropriate reports to the Director and Medical Director as well as clinic staff and Physicians. Takes actions to correct problematic areas.
  • Manages clinic demand and volume to meet budgeted volume projections in collaboration with medical staff leadership. Takes corrective action if indicated.


  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Masters Degree in Nursing, Business, or Health Care Administration or other related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years management / supervisory experience preferably in a medical setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff development.
  • Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner is required.
  • Knowledge of JCAHO, DOH and other regulatory agency standards and requirements is required.

Equivalent education and experience may substitute for requirements.
