Registered Nurse, Sandy, OR

Mt. Hood Hospice is a private, non-profit hospice established in 1980 in the Sandy community. We are consistently ranked as the #1 hospice in the Portland metro area by Care Compare Hospice, compared to 17 other local area hospices. We strive to provide compassionate and personalized care to the patients and families on our service, as they navigate a very challenging and stressful time in their lives. We employ a dedicated team of nurses, social workers, chaplains, and other support staff to help those in our care along their journey.

As a hospice RN, you will work with patients and their families through a difficult and emotional time in their lives, the loss of a loved one. You will provide comfort, compassion, and teaching to our families and help them make the most of the time they have left together.

We are currently looking for some night shift and/or weekend RNs who can use their expertise in providing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Job duties:

• Use your professional skills to assess, treat, and teach patients and their families as you provide care in their own private home or in a facility.
• Utilize your teaching skills to empower families and caregivers to care for their loved one, guiding them through the end of life process.
• Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to meet the individual needs of each of our hospice patients and their families.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients, and assist in developing and revising the plan of care as needed.
• Provide timely documentation with the use of our EMR in order to communicate assessments, planning, and interventions.

Job requirements:

• Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license
• Current CPR certification
• We prefer a minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience as an RN
• Hospice experience preferred, but not required
