Opportunity

The Medical Director of Clinical Informatics will provide collaborative clinical leadership for the application of clinical informatics initiatives of Mosaic Medical. This position will work in partnership with the CHO and Information Technology Director to provide for execution of strategies to align and demonstrate clinical informatics use in our clinics, community, and payers.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative time focused on 1 day a week with Information Technology and 0.5 days per week in informatics clinical observation.
  • Partners with the Information Technology Director in development of strategy to advance informatics in clinical care, including but not limited to, clinical information technologies, clinical information applications, provider efficiencies and team care.
  • Provides direct patient care 2.5 days per week, including preventive care, primary diagnosis and treatment in a primary care clinic setting.
  • Uses current evidence-based guidelines in creating diagnostic and treatment plans; utilizing tools such as “Up to Date” or “Choosing Wisely.”
  • Maintains accurate electronic health records of patients and completes documentation in timely manner

Skills & Knowledge

Understands and has experience with fiscal accountability and budgeting. Knowledge of quality infrastructure, including how to develop and implement decision tools, clinical protocols and guidelines, care management programs, and outcome measurement assessments. Knowledge of informatics, including statistical analysis, clinical epidemiology, and medical informatics; understanding best practices and how to successfully introduce informatics into clinical practice. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build consensus with the ability to engage clinicians and staff. Knowledge of medical coding, both ICD-10 and CPT.
