The Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services is a registered pharmacist who functions as both a clinician and director dedicated to providing support of medication use systems and delivery of optimal medication therapy throughout the medical center. The Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing specific pharmacy services which should be provided to patients, including clinical process improvements, redesign of clinical pharmacy services, integration of clinical pharmacy services, implementation of drug utilization programs, participates in the development and revision of clinical care guidelines, and assists with pharmacy operations. They oversee decentralized pharmacy practice and medication use systems, dedicated patient service lines and patient-centered pharmaceutical care services, and related specialty patient care areas requiring pharmacy support.
Doctor of Pharmacy required from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy.
MBA, MHA, or other advanced degree highly preferred.
Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Illinois.
Must complete licensure process within 60 days of employment.
Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy or PGY-2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency required.
Board Certification in BPS is required within 18 months of hire.
8 years of clinical and operational pharmacy experience, to include a minimum of 5 years in a hospital setting.
Pharmacy leadership experience required, with formal leadership training or supervisory experience preferred.
Demonstrated contributions to excellence in clinical pharmacy as evidenced through publications or poster presentations that have made a difference in clinical outcomes.
