The Precourt Healing Center Nursing Director reports to Vail Health’s Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO), and the Precourt Healing Center Administrator. This position develops, implements, and oversees standards of care relevant to inpatient behavioral health patient services including standards regarding delivery of care, personnel qualifications, competencies, and scope, as well as patient and medical workflows specific to the inpatient space. This position directly supervises the psychiatric charge nurses, the assessment and intake coordinator, the behavioral health tech leads, and supervises all nursing personnel who deliver direct patient services and coordinates all patient services. Supervision of patient care services: Identifies and oversees the operation of the inpatient behavioral health nursing program and services necessary to meet key behavioral health needs of the community and in alignment with Vail Health's core values, philosophy, and goals. This position is responsible for documentation and compliance audits and ensures all programming is aligned with local, internal, state, federal, and regulatory standards, and compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a RN
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in nursing leadership with a minimum one (1) year in Behavioral Healthcare required
  • Understanding of Colorado laws and regulations as they relate to the mental health practices, privacy, confidentiality, supervision, and ethical delivery of care.
  • Experience overseeing accurate and timely data collection and data reporting to include Medicaid billing or reporting requirements.
  • Experience with behavioral health specific electronic mental recording, including documentation standards, coding requirements, and minimum standards of care
  • Expertise in HIPAA and privacy laws with specific understanding of Part 2/42 CFR restrictions
  • Rural behavioral health experience with specific knowledge of resources and community agencies specific to Eagle County preferred
  • Bilingual preferred

License(s):

  • Current/Active Colorado RN License in good standing required

Certification(s):

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Computer / Typing:

  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience.

Pay Range:

$118,266—$168,949 USD
