KHS reasonably expects to pay starting compensation for the position of Business Intelligence Supervisor in the range of $113,198 – $143,639 annually.

Purpose:

This position is responsible for assisting the Business Intelligence Manager in the execution of the business intelligence strategy for the organization. The Business Intelligence Supervisor will lead a highly talented team of Business Intelligence Analysts that are responsible for the organizations advanced analytics, baseline measures, performance measures, key performance indicators and monitoring of key performance indicators for Kern Health Systems (KHS). The Business Intelligence Supervisor must be capable of drawing sound conclusions; interpret and follow detailed and precise written and oral instructions; prepare clear, complete and concise analytics for review; supervise, evaluate, and train assigned staff; and have the ability to work well and effectively communicate with people of various professional, vocational and educational backgrounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Management

  • Provide leadership and management for the organization through the development and implementation of the business intelligence.
  • Manage and reconcile employee work models to supervise the business intelligence team and ensure customer service level agreements and management expectations are met.
  • Work with senior management to create business intelligence strategies while establishing and continuously improving department processes and operations for maximum efficiencies.
  • Seek out a full understanding of the company’s operations and the detailed processes and the alignment of data to ensure that it is accurate, functioning, and effective.
  • Create policies and procedures, and works as, or with, a Project Manager on project cost, resource estimation, tasking, and timely project completion.
  • Perform Scrum Master duties and responsibilities to ensure that backlogs are ready, iterative work is complete, and that resources track their time while effectively executing work while removing impediments.
  • Frequently mentor team members and build team morale through engaged leadership.

Core Competencies

  • Provide advanced analytics, project management skills, and related abilities to facilitate and execute multidiscipline projects and teams in accomplishing corporate goals and objectives.
  • Establish, maintain and promote consistent methodology for analytics deployment, proactive analytics and provide operational metrics for validation of process flows, compliance, audits and effectively collaborate within the organization to distill information into key actionable items supporting organizational goals and objectives.
  • Capable of providing expert level Structured Query Language (SQL) knowledge, experience, and mentoring to the Business Intelligence Analyst team.
  • In coordination with business leaders, identify objectives and measures for process improvement opportunities through data, and assisting the business areas to mature in its reporting and analytics practices through program views in a macro and or micro level.
  • Identify, track, analyze and report performance measurements, including benchmarks, baselines and targets of business operations in relation to best business practices for the healthcare service industry and internal business objectives.
  • Collaborate with end users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data communication and delivery while continuing to build, manage, and energize an analytical team with a proven focus on delivering business results and excellent customer service.
  • Conduct analysis overview and effectively present data to key stakeholders in various subjects such as financial and clinical outcomes, supporting a decision process through data analytics. This includes leading management and or staff through the analytic process and translating analytic insight into business value for ongoing management capabilities.
  • Monitor the analytics marketplace for new trends, technologies and its potential benefits, and participate in selection of tools, software, and upgrades.

Employment Standards

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics from an accredited institution or equivalent AND eight (8) years progressive healthcare experience in a data-oriented analytical and technical capacity for a medium to large size organization.

OR

Twelve (12) years progressive healthcare experience in a data-oriented, analytical and technical capacity for a medium to large size organization.

Position is suited for a mid-level to advanced career management person.

Other: Possession of valid California Driver’s License and proof of valid State required auto liability insurance. Required Travel Up to 10%.
