Training Specialist

Qualified candidates will have at least three years of experience providing and/or overseeing direct support services for individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.

General familiarity with Person Center Service Plans (PCSP), Behavior Plans (BP) Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) Abuse Neglect & Exploitation (ANE) and Incident Reporting (IR).

Position: Training Specialist
Reports to: Human Resource Director
Supervises: N/A
Primary Hours: Monday – Friday
Pay Range: $26.00/hr.-$30.28/hr. Non-exempt.

Position Summary:

The Training Specialist, under limited supervision, conducts integrated training needs assessments. This person designs, plans, implements, delivers, coordinates, evaluates a comprehensive range of training and education programs in their field of expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or 3 years’ experience directly related to IDD duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Able to meet all background checks including APS/CPS, Central Registry, and personal history checks.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must possess or able to obtain at the minimum the required IDD trainer trainings within 1 year of hire:
    1. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid
    2. Prevention & Support
    3. Article 9
    4. Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation Prevention
    5. Positive Behavior Support
  • Comprehensive knowledge of training plan, curriculum, and aid design and development
  • Knowledge of implementation and facilitation of technical, operational, and/or specialty training events and program
  • Teaching and facilitation skills
  • Ability to assess training needs and objectives.
  • Ability to design, develop, implement, and evaluate responsive programs and initiatives including training plans, curricula, and methodology.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
