SUMMARY

The position provides clinical oversight within the Fairbanks Native Association Graf program. The Clinical Supervisor will have overall responsibility of all clinical services at a Residential Unit including operating in congruence with the treatment philosophy, approach and service delivery model in compliance with State and Commission for Accreditation for Residential Facilities (CARF) standards, achieving program goals and objectives, meeting monitory goals, providing outreach, creating monthly and quarterly reports, providing clinical supervision, and conducting clinical trainings.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develops, revises and maintains the clinical policies and procedures of the residential unit as needed
  • Assures a thorough orientation of new clinical staff as prescribed in the policies and procedures
  • Tains, oversees and provides guidance in clinical documentation
  • Approves all clinical documentation for billing and chart accuracy as outline in the policy and procedures
  • Reviews treatment charts routinely for accuracy, treatment compliance, and adherence to CARF and State Standards
  • Assists, as needed, in the writing of reports including quarterlies and annual grant continuations
  • Assists in outreach services to ensure utilization of treatment
  • Oversees all applications for admission and provides orientation to all consumers entering the unit
  • Maintains active presence and availability on the treatment unit for consumer and staff needs
  • Develops and maintains treatment schedule
  • Conducts weekly case staffing and treatment plan reviews with the team in order to review consumer’s current issues and level of care
  • Fulfills responsibilities during staff vacancies to meet the needs of the consumer
  • Maintains CPR/First Aid and Non- Violent Crisis Intervention (RESPECT) training on a yearly basis
  • Participates in external/internal meetings and trainings as necessary
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

  • Maintains a respectful relationship with consumer, former consumers, and family members

Internal Relations:

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times in accordance with 42CFR Part 2 and HIPAA requirements
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff and supports management within the FNA organization

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY

  • Knowledge of and compliance with human services clinical practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles
  • Knowledge of addictions and ongoing needs of the population
  • Skill in operating personal computer utilizing a variety of computer software
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees
  • Ability to report to work in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or applicable degree within behavioral health field
  • Certified as State of Alaska Counselor Level II
  • First Aid and CPR certification required within thirty (30) days of hire
  • Experience conducting group therapy and individual therapy
  • Experience supervising clinical staff and offer effective clinical direction

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)

  • Master’s degree in related field

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 25 lbs. The majority of work is performed in an office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. The office is a non-smoking facility with outside smoking areas. Requires local travel between various program components of FNA which may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions. Works in an environment where protection of consumer confidentiality is essential. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided where/when needed.

SPECIFICATIONS

Supervision Received: Position receives direct supervision the from the Program Director of Graf; however, incumbent is expected to effectively perform day-to-day activity as denoted within job description. Work will be monitored through weekly meetings, monthly reports, and regular communication with the Director. General guidelines for operations are based on program requirements and the general policies and procedures of FNA.

Supervision Exercised: Supervision requirements for this position as directed by BHS Clinical Director.

Driving Requirements: This position will require you to frequently (or incidentally) drive your personal vehicle for FNA business. In order to drive your personal vehicle for FNA business an individual must provide a copy of their current Alaska Driver’s License and a copy of their proof of personal liability insurance. No employee may transport a FNA consumer in a personal vehicle.

Position Impact: Impact at the program level is high. Program’s level of compliance with program standards is directly affected by the effective performance of duties, especially as they relate to providing HR services to divisions and programs.

Contacts: Contacts include, and not limited to, volunteers, organizational staff, consumers, and outside resource agencies.
