We are seeking an Emergency Department Nurse Case Manager to:

  • Use broad clinical background with well-developed assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Understand medical necessity, level of care and patient status (inpatient, outpatient).
  • Work autonomously and have excellent computer skills
  • Use knowledge of community resources such as transportation, skilled nursing facilities or home health agencies


Minimum - BSN degree

Preferred - MS degree

Work Experience:

Minimum - Five years relevant clinical nursing experience.

Preferred - Previous Emergency Department or Case Management experience

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - RN licensed in the state of Wisconsin

Preferred - Emergency Department or Nurse Case Manager Certification

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer skills in word processing, data base management, and spreadsheet desirable.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met

Work Schedule:

60% FTE (24 hours per week). 12 hour shifts. Rotating Day/Night Shifts. Rotating Weekends and Holidays. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
