JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as a member of the leadership team in Corporate Communications. The Director I creates and oversees internal strategic storytelling, internal communication planning efforts for enterprise and clinical initiatives, provides technical oversight of the intranet sites, responsible for team measurement, special projects and serves as back-up to the Senior Director. Creates and fosters a creative, positive, efficient and collaborative team with primary efforts focused on department goals. An in-depth understanding and proven experience in internal/employee communications is critical, along with the ability to think outside the box to support the department’s goal of being the best place to work in healthcare. This role will have direct reports, so proven management experience is a requirement. Provides guidance and strategic council to team members related to story development, content strategy, prioritization of internal communications, coordination of e-newsletters, and crisis situations.

Directs the development and implementation of communication and marketing policies, procedures and strategies.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing research techniques; problem solving, sampling procedures, data collection and analysis, interpretation and presentation.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • None required.

COMPLEXITY OF WORK:

  • Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of related Communications, Marketing or Journalism experience required.
  • Leadership experience, and business management experience preferred (i.e., statistics, program evaluation, implementation and analysis).
