Position summary

Associate Director, Education (Job Opening 458059) - The Associate Director for the Research Education, Training and Career Development Program in the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) directs, coordinates and administers CCTS education and training programs targeted to junior faculty (KL2 program and Davis Bremer); pre-doctoral and post-doctoral trainees (TL1 program); and the broader clinical and translational research community of faculty, post-doctoral trainees, graduate students, and residents. Plans, organizes, develops, implements, and evaluates education programs and learning activities designed to assist the target population develop their clinical and translational research skills and careers. Identifies, recommends and implements programmatic and curriculum changes as needed; leads strategic planning to develop and implement new and revised programs, utilizing optimized use of innovative delivery, and guided mentoring. Develops strategic partnerships across the university, and with state, regional, and national members of the clinical and translational science consortium to identify areas of partnership in meeting mutual career development and training needs. Prepares reports and conducts special studies; recommends program changes based on evaluations, focus groups, and other customer data; forecasts, develops and administers program budget (both grant and university funds); reviews, monitors and authorizes expenditures; identifies funding needs and investigates opportunities for possible sources of funding to support training programs; represents CCTS Education program on national groups. Serves as a resource specialist to CCTS constituents on education and training programs. Coordinates and assists other CCTS staff and program leaders on education and training programming as needed. Knowledgeable of relevant OSU educational resources. Able to work will with faculty, staff, and students from across the university. Possesses excellent project management skills, collaborative abilities, and initiative.

Education and experience

A Master's degree in business administration or public administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Considerable knowledge of education administration and principles is required. Considerable experience in program planning and administration is required. Requires successful completion of a background check.
