HMC Ambulatory & Allied Care Services has an outstanding opportunity for a DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL WORK. Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, this individual will oversee the Social Work Department to assure alignment with and adherence to the organization’s mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and business strategies. Emphasizing service excellence, patient safety, staff safety, financial responsibility and organizational integration, the director leads the department in overall program development and service priorities planning, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of social work clinical, teaching, and research activities. Provides leadership and expertise regarding complex psychosocial issues (abuse/neglect, end of life, crime victims), crisis intervention, discharge planning, care coordination and placement. Responsible for Social Work performance across the organization, including inpatient, Emergency Department/PES, outpatient clinics, and HCSATS and CRC. Advocates for patients and families across the care continuum.

Master’s degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
Seven (7) years of full-time professional social work experience.
This background must include four years of experience in health care setting, including four years of social work management experience, at least 3 of which are in a health care setting. Comparable combinations of experience will be considered.
Must have experience with budgeting, data collection, and clinical metrics.
Licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker with the WA State DOH.
