As a medical home, Unity Care NW is committed to a patient-centered care team model that engages patients and their families in their care while working to achieve stated objectives & outcomes. We provide a full range of primary & preventive health care to people of all ages. As the Medical Director, you would:

  • lead, manage, and support the effectiveness of our medical providers & medical operations
  • serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team which includes defining and facilitating achievement of organizational priorities and performance expectations
  • ensure execution of our mission to "increase the years of healthy life in the people & communities we serve" by dedicating time for both administrative work and direct patient care
  • provide comprehensive, coordinated, primary and preventive health care services to a diverse & underserved patient population across the lifespan, the majority with comorbidity or dual diagnoses
  • serve as a clinical lead and champion for our Quality Improvement Program & Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model

Our robust care teams include:

  • Medical Providers (physicians, nurse practitioners and PAs)
  • RNs, LPNs & Medical Assistants
  • Behavioral Health Consultants who assist with behavioral health issues & help patients meet their overall health care goals
  • Case Managers who connect patients to wrap-around services
  • Close collaboration with our integrated dental, population health & pharmacy services


  • Be a Physician who graduated from an approved school of medicine as a DO or MD, completed a residency in Family Medicine (or other primary care specialty), is in good standing with their state's board of licensing, and is board certified in their specialty
  • Have 5 or more years’ experience in Family Medicine or other primary care specialty in an outpatient setting
  • Have worked in a community health center or similar setting providing care to underserved populations
  • Be a dynamic, highly respected clinician with prior management experience
  • Be a proven team player who can adapt to a continually evolving environment with a willingness to embrace & lead positive change
  • Be a hands-on, collaborative leader adept at engaging, developing & communicating with clinical staff and ensuring high quality systems & care
  • Be able to understand and respond effectively and with sensitivity to special population groups including those defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, gender, sexual orientation, economic standing, & others


  • A friendly and collaborative team environment
  • Outpatient clinic only - no OB and no hospital rounding
  • A modest call schedule providing phone support to 3rd parties only, never directly to patients
  • A robust orientation followed by a ramp up period
  • A fully implemented EMR system (Centricity) with one-on-one training
  • Support staff in the areas of nursing, on-site behavioral health, medical records, EMR/IT, case management, referrals to specialty care, & referrals for patients seeking health insurance
