Position Summary:

The Program Manager at Recovery Place Kent will provide leadership and management for program development, training, quality assurance and quality improvement, and clinical supervision for all Valley Cities Behavioral Health (VCBH) staff and programs in the assigned function areas. The Program Manager at Recovery Place Kent has the primary responsibilities of supporting the Director of Acute Care Transitions in ensuring the mission of VCBH is fulfilled and implementing policies, procedures, and other activities in support of strategic goals and objectives. The Program Manager at Recovery Place Kent is responsible for the delivery of client services provided by Inpatient teams

Essential Job Functions: (This is not the job description in its entirety)

The employee must have the ability to:

  • Provide general oversight, management, and census reporting for 16 E &T and 16 SWMS beds.
  • Training, retention, hiring, and supervision of clinical staff
  • Assure that the Inpatient - Recovery Place Kent provides services that include the following core functions: Team approach; family friendly; Shared decision-making; Specialized training; Individual Therapy; Skills training; Community outreach and education; Client/family engagement and education; and crisis intervention services.
  • Establish and maintain a county-wide network of referral sources for the Inpatient - Recovery Place Kent.
  • Understands and maintains a current knowledge of laws, regulations, funding sources, and management practices that impact function area issues, including finances, human resources, risk management, clinical and medical practices.
  • Ensure effective management and execution of billing and payroll reporting.
  • Work effectively as part of the management team to disseminate the practice knowledge gained in implementing Inpatient - Recovery Place Kent and assist in implementing in all inpatient settings.
  • Attend agency and community meetings, psychiatric consultations, individual supervision and other program meetings to represent the agency, develop partnerships and share information.
  • Coordinate with Senior Management in planning, development and implementation of Strategic Plan, policies and procedures, quality improvement, annual budget, and external relationships.
  • Teach and review team work so that staff has the skills and knowledge to complete accurate client evaluations, differential diagnoses, can complete intakes and accurate tier assessments, create effective recovery plans and progress notes, closing summaries and completion of other necessary reports and correspondence related to client care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MA Degree in Behavioral Sciences Field
  • Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage Family Therapy (LMFT),
  • or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LICSW).
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience, post licensure, providing mental health treatment.
  • Current Driver's License and automotive insurance
  • Pass required background checks

Working Conditions

Work is performed inside and outside in varying temperatures. Employee may occasionally be required to push or lift to 40 pounds. May be exposed to office supply odors or vapors. Employee is sitting, most of the time. Employee is also required to stand, walk, type, bend, write, read, interpret, and explain complex issues and speak on the telephone.
