Description

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) on the Behavioral Urgent Response Team (BURT) is responsible for providing psychiatric consult services in an inpatient setting and direct customer-owner care in an outpatient setting. This position works one week (seven days) on and one week off (seven days).

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Current Certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurse Credentialing Center, (NP) with added qualifications in psychiatry.
  2. Minimum two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a multi-disciplinary setting, with prescriptive privileges OR successful completion of a behavioral health clinical rotation within the Southcentral Foundation system or comparable medical system.
  3. Must have current valid Alaska license.
  4. Credentialing organization must be covered by requirement of the State of Alaska Board of Nursing.
  5. Must be eligible for DEA certification.
  6. Meets all requirements to obtain associate medical staff membership and required privileges of service.
  7. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty.
  8. Specialized expertise in psychopharmacology.

Jobs designated as a Health Care Personnel (HCP) position, requires that you have documentation that you have completed the following immunizations prior to your first day of employment: MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, and T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis).
