The Environmental Public Health (EPH) Division Manager (Program Manager III) leads and manages the ongoing development and implementation of environmental health programs and services with integrity, professionalism, positivity, dedication, and compassion. This is an executive leadership team role that reports to the Health Officer/Administrator, and oversees five program managers with over 40 subordinate staff members.
The division manager stays current with emerging public health issues, environmental impacts, environmental equity, and evidence-based, best practices to address issues; remains well informed of local, state, and national regulations to properly educate, enforce, and protect the health of the community; identifies and implements proactive approaches to maintain and improve community health.
Education and Experience:
Knowledge of: The principles and practices of public sector organization and program operations; contemporary management theories, practices and techniques in each of the functional areas which falls within current or potential responsibilities of the position; principles of environmental justice; project management, including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and problem solving; analysis and evaluation of policies, procedures, public information, and service delivery issues; local and state lawmaking processes; research methods and techniques; trends and practices within environmental public health; and personal computer applications and usage.
