Radiology Tech: The primary purpose of the Radiology Technologist is to provide the best diagnostic images possible for the Radiologists, Physicians and ER Providers. This is to be done in the most efficient manner possible, always taking care to ensure the comfort and privacy of the patient.
Mammo Tech: The Mammography Technologist (also called Mammogram Techs) is responsible for creating a clear, readable image that can be used by radiologists, oncologists, or other doctors to make an informed diagnosis. Uses advanced medical imaging technology to examine breast tissue for tumors, cysts, lesions, and other disease-causing abnormalities.
Essential Job Duties:
Radiology Tech: Positions patient under x-ray equipment, adjusts immobilization devices, use appropriate shielding devices and practice appropriate radiation protection procedures. May specialize in acquiring x-rays and CT of specific areas of the body. Files, reports, and maintain records of service rendered. Helps maintain the care, inventory, and use of supplies and equipment throughout the Radiology Department and hospital. Participates in annual inventory and other administrative duties.
Mammo Tech: Assists patients through the stressful mammogram process while using low-dose Xray imaging equipment to view the breast. Being conscientious and able to follow instructions is important to avoid making errors during the test. Ability to work with and maintain the mammography machine. Technical expertise when using medical equipment. Other duties may include processing confidential patient records, as well as consulting with physicians and surgeons. Maintain accurate QC logs, service records, etc. Performs highest quality of imaging that is consistent with the prescribed examination, documents, and deviation. Understand contraindications and potential hazards of different exams. Other duties as assigned.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Certified by the State of Washington. Graduation from an AMA – approved school of Radiologic Technology. (Technical staff can be crossed trained). The Mammography Technologist must have ARRT advanced certification in mammography, and completed an accredited program in radiology or imaging and have a minimum of 1 year experience as a Mammography Tech. Prior experience must be validated by a letter or telephone. Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Possess high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Current BLS certification.
Position Wage Range: MIN: $ 29.08 MAX: $ 40.08 Sign-on Bonus: None
