JOB TITLE: REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSE III

RECRUITMENT NO: KCH-RPN

JOB LOCATION: KONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL

SALARY RANGE: *$8,640 PER MONTH at 100% FTE (SR-20, Step B; BU:09)

JOB DUTIES: The Registered Professional Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other staff and departments in maintaining standards of nursing care; follows established policies, procedures or specific instructions. This position may be required to works shifts, weekends, and holidays. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SHIFTS AS NECESSARY BASED ON HOSPITAL OPERATIONS; SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 24/7.

Vacancies may be in the following areas: Behavioral Health (Adult), Chemotherapy/Infusion, ICU, Critical Care Float Pool, Emergency Department, Education-Nursing, Imaging, Medical/Surgical, Nursing Float Pool, Oncology, OB, OR, Post Anesthesia Care/Short Stay, Quality Management, Radiation Therapy and Utilization Review. Vacancies may be permanent, temporary, full-time, or part-time.

THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ARE: Applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Please note that unless specifically indicated; the required education and experiences may not be gained concurrently. In addition, qualifying work experiences are based on a 40-hour work week.

Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. While not required, graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.

Experience: One-half (1/2) year of professional nursing work experience.

Substitutions Allowed: Possession of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university school of nursing may be substituted for one year of nursing experience.

Selective Certification: Specialized knowledge, skills and abilities may be required to perform the duties of some positions. In such positions, applicants may be restricted to those who possess the pertinent experience and/or training required to perform the duties of the position.

Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Health Care Worker required at the time of appointment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six (6) months of employment.

Licensure: Possession of a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Hawaii.
