This position will oversee management of the joint UIC/OSF contract requirements; professional/support staff to operate the contract and faculty physicians and advance practice providers (APP) working under this contract at OSF Little Company of Mary.
The position is responsible for, in part, developing and implements strategies and tactics to improve and strengthen our business models, services provided, patient satisfaction and revenue generation.
Position is responsible for preparing budgets for ED and educational programs, developing and maintaining monthly productivity and finance dashboards, and performing statistical analysis and reports to UIC Department of Emergency Medicine leadership team monthly.
Will manage faculty physician and APP clinical productivity, clinical schedules, expenses, supplies for a 24 hour/7day per week ED service.
Oversees educational programs at onsite and offsite UIC locations for residency, fellows and medical students as well as overseeing the marketing and communication efforts of UIC, OSF and LCM partnership.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business Management and/or Health Care Administration or Public Health, and 3 years of experience in inpatient/outpatient care and/or Emergency Department setting, including management experience in an academic environment; as well as recent experience managing an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education approved residency program and program requirements.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree and a total of 6 years of management level experience (supervisory and financial) in healthcare with above experience.
Must have knowledge of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education requirements for emergency medicine;
Working knowledge of healthcare in a academic environment. Solid knowledge of Federal, State, Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) clinical guidelines and compliance for patient healthcare, safety and billing requirements, and knowledge of how to apply them in practice.
Financial acumen in understanding, preparing, and managing operational budgets. Intermediate skills using general office equipment, Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
Strong communication skills to interact with patients and develop effective working relations with colleagues, other colleges, ambulatory, patients, providers, regulatory bodies, consultants, and vendors.
Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner. Must possess excellent analytical skills to read, analyze, and interpret business trends. Excellent problem solving skills.
Understands the trends and operations in providing Emergency Medicine Services in an Emergency Department 24/7/365.
