Responsible for the leadership, development, coordination and management of Hawaii Care Choices clinical services and the direct delivery of care for patients and families. Plays an essential role in achieving our mission of providing people and families facing serious illness, death and grief the highest quality end-of-life care and support.
Duties & Responsibilities
Direct supervision of inpatient clinical staff.
Provide guidance, support and coaching on staff development and performance expectations for all those under your supervision.
Explore, develop, and implement hospice and palliative care industry best practice methods/models of care to ensure the availability and provision of appropriate care and services across all service lines. Including but not limited to staffing patterns, clinical staff productivity, competencies that meet industry standards, and evidence-based practice.
In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services, develop and/or revise policies, procedures, and guidelines to fulfill program objectives and maximize efficiencies.
In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services, evaluate staffing requirements and recommend changes to ensure staffing meets demands of inpatient care. Consistently uphold and enforce established standards of excellence by fostering responsibility and accountability with each team member.
Skill & Knowledge Requirements
Clinical skills competence with the ability to mentor others.
Sound working knowledge of hospice and palliative care Conditions of Participation (COPs) and Clinical Practice.
Demonstrated organizational and critical thinking/analytical skills, detail-orientated, and follow up.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing situations on short notice and with ease.
Understanding and acceptance of hospice and palliative care philosophy.
Advanced and efficient use of technology.
Working knowledge of EEOC regulations & risk management, as they pertain to health care employees.
Education & Experience
BSN required, MSN preferred from an accredited program and licensed in the State of Hawai'i.
Two (2) years hospice management and Five (5) years leadership experience preferred.
Generally during regular business hours with administrative call duties as scheduled.
